Who wouldn’t want to go to a place where both the kiss of nature and the blessings of God are attained? Of course, everyone wants to! Among those beautiful destinations, Trimbakeshwar Shiva Jyotirling Temple is one of the most beautiful and religious places that is listed in everyone’s top list. Situated in the town of Trimbak, in the Nashik district of Maharashtra, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of twelve jyotirlingas.
There is an adage that one can visit religious places when they have been called by God itself. My journey seemed to be part of the same. It was a wonderful experience that thrilled my soul and filled me with happy vibes.

My journey to Nashik was quite interesting and straight like a ‘Jalebi’. Initially, I didn’t have any plan to visit there but when I travelled to Mumbai to meet my friends, I met one of my elder brother there who had a plan to visit Nashik. As Trimbak is one of my dream destinations, I got excited to know that he is going there and without wasting a single second I asked to go there with him. Nasik was a new place for me as I was not familiar with any alley of that place, so this trip was going to be very amazing for me because I had found the perfect companion who knew everything about Nasik.
We both took a train from Thane station for Nasik road. It was a four-hour journey in which we shared our coach with two women who were coming back from some ashram of spirituality. We had a great conversation with them, they shared their experience about God and superpower which they had learned in the ashram. They told us that human beings transfer their powers from one body to another. These things were totally new for me that enhanced my interest in spirituality. We reached Nashik road railway station in the midnight, we took an auto and reached at our friend’s home, had dinner and took rest as it was a hectic day.
The very next morning, I was very enthusiastic to explore the city, especially Trimbak. We hired a motorcycle for the day. The temple was 35 km away from our place. The ride was wonderful, the greenery fields, beautifulAnjaneri hills, it took me to the animated movie “Bal Hanuman” where I had heard about the Anjaneri hills. All these things filled my soul with great happiness. As expected, the place wasn’t very crowded, if you really know what is real crowd. We took my favourite Peda for Prashad to offer to the god that is known as Chadhawa. VIP passes were also available for the entry but standing in a long queue and chanting god’s name was more fun so we opted for that option. I literally got goosebumps when I heard the collective voices of people chanting “Om Namah Shivaay” and it touched my heart. The whole area was covered with hills and the temple was surrounded by long walls which made me feel like I am in the lap of God. Near the main entrance, we found the idol of Nandi Maharaj and also noticed the people making urges in their ear as they are known to be very close to Lord Bhole Baba. We were just a few steps away from the main entrance and I got my eyes stuck on a mirror that was reflecting the image of ‘Trinity Jyotirlinga’. As soon as we entered the temple, I was amazed by the magical aroma inside there that felt like I was getting attracted to the lord. The pandits were continuously chanting mantras and did a unique namaskar to greet the ‘Shiv Pratima’ to express their belief in them. That place is so peaceful that nobody wants to leave it as it is believed that one can achieve ‘Moaksh’ by just visiting there. After this, we proceeded towards the Kusavarta Kunda, which is one of the first points of River Godavari after it flows down Gangadwara from Brahmagiri mountain. We took a bath in that sacred river and also took the holy water to home as Ganga jal.
